Leading the Rosemont Student Athletic Advisor Committee

Rosemont College gray turfThis past week at Rosemont has been full of classes and events. My favorite event this week was being a part of Rosemont’s Student Athletic Advisor Committee (R.S.A.A.C). It was our first meeting of the year and my first as the president. I am Rosemont’s College's first male R.S.A.A.C. committee president. Being the first male president is not only new to Rosemont but also for me to take the lead since this is a role that I have never held. Our first meeting ran smoothly. We had some great input from Coach Nord the Head Men’s Soccer Coach, informing us of a big win over Moravian College on Wednesday, beating them two to zero. We are looking forward to a great year; we have some real strong talent!

R.S.A.A.C. is looking forward to receiving your ideas, as student input is important; it lets us know how we are doing, and is a great tool to implement new ideas. The main goal of R.S.A.A.C. is to be a platform where students can submit their ideas and we will then do our best to plan or present it to the athletic board. So your input as a student athlete with regards to classes and athletics is important.

This past Sunday we had our athletic Commissioning Mass. The purpose of the Commissioning Mass is for student athletes to receive a blessing wishing them a great season. The mass is a Catholic mass but we welcome everyone. After the mass we held a barbeque then sent off the men’s soccer team to Baltimore for a game.

In my next blog I'll feature some of the new facilities and training staff. I’m also working on a video about Rosemont's new athletic fields. I’m looking forward to hearing what both the players and guests think of the new field.

If you have any questions email me at mmanning@rosemont.edu. GO RAVENS!!!
