Doing Good In & Out of Rosemont College
This week at Rosemont we held our Raven Madness Night, which is a pep-rally for the men’s and women’s basketball teams. Aside from getting students and athletes excited about the basketball season, it’s also a great opportunity to raise money for the Rosemont Service Immersion trips. We also collected canned goods for the Saint Francis Inn located in Philadelphia.
The Rosemont Service Immersion trips, which are run by the Rosemont Campus Ministry, are when students from our school travel to a part of the world in need and assist them in any way possible. This year some of the Service Immersion teams are headed to Puerto Rico and Alabama & Louisiana to volunteer their time.
The other cause was for the Saint Francis Inn, which is a place for the homeless men, women, and children in our area. It is a place they can go for food, shelter, and clothing. It operates mainly from donations and Rosemont is always willing to help! This year we donated a lot of canned goods and other non-perishable items, thanks to the Raven Madness night!
Raven Madness night was a lot of fun. The R.S.A.A.C. team hosted the event and gave out a lot of great prizes. Some of those prizes included brand new Nike sneakers, and $100. Other prizes were things that Rosemont College donated for the occasion.
The night was just one of many events that Rosemont College offers for students to go out and spend time away from the books. Rosemont College is the power of small where you can always find something for you. If there is something you are interested in doing that isn’t already planned contact the Rosemont Activity Counsel (RAC) who will work with you in planning something new. They are always open to new ideas!
The Ravens Madness night was a great night! Being able to support our athletes while also helping two great causes was an added bonus! If you did not attend the event I hope to see you at our next R.S.A.A.C. activity. If you have any questions or comments email me at email@example.com. GO RAVENS!!!
